Winter Wednesday

We didn't get much, but what we got - Savannah enjoyed!

New York, New York

My company headquarters are in Plainview (Long Island) and we had sales training meetings for a couple of days, so we packed up the family and headed east! Thad and I wanted to take Savannah to experience FAO Schwartz, so we drove into Manhattan and made an afternoon out of it. We grabbed a burger and went back to FAO for more. Thad did great navigating traffic and the streets. My man also discovered that the offices are only about five minutes from Bethpage Golf Course, so of course he would load up the kiddos and head over to explore and eat lunch! Needless to say it was a fun few days.....

Happiness Is Being Four Months Old

Caroline is one of the smiliest babies in our humble opinion! She is four months old now and is so sweet. She made her first airplane ride on January 20th (to New York no less) and was perfect. Never cried one time...... Enjoy.....

Christmas 2008

We had a "sweet chaos" of a Christmas. As our life would have it, Thad (work)traveled the 18th-25th and the 26th - 28th giving us Christmas day, which of course...was a (family) TRAVEL day! However, I was bound and determined that the three girls would still get dressed up and go to church for Christmas eve services and partake in celebrating Jesus' birth. Savannah kept asking when we were going home, Caroline slept during the service and cried in the car, and my pants didn't fit right.
Afterwards, Savannah and I dined on meatballs and macaroni & cheese and then our wonderful friends - Matt and Mindy Gandy saved the entire day and treated me to a personally delivered meal of beef tenderloin, broccoli and cheese casserole, sweet potato casserole and sinfully good oreo truffles. WOW. I LOVE the GANDY's! We packed and traveled to Fort Smith on Christmas day (read: arrival of 10:30 at night) to see the Shepard clan and then it was on to OKC to see the O'Keefe clan just in time for Thad to get back on an airplane and fly back to Memphis on the 26th. Fun was had by all and we came home on January 3rd loaded with Christmas goodies. We are now officially Toys 'R' Us of East Memphis and we need a second home to actually move around in, sleep in and eat in. Happy New Year!!!

Dressed Up For Christmas Eve Service

Savannah's Christmas Eve present - she is fascinated by all things Narnia.
Caroline - just happy as a clam and no clue what day it is.

Happy Holidays!

This Christmas season feels much different to me. First, Savannah is old enough and smart enough to be hyper alert to any package that shows up on our doorstep. This creates a new problem for me to solve....how do I continue to say it's "all for mommy" and where do I hide everything for crying out loud? Second, getting out of the house to do any actual shopping also poses a problem, hence the internet shopping and package delivery. Third, do siblings HAVE to wear matching Christmas outfits and pajamas? Because if so, retailers make this near impossible. Trying to find a 0-3 month pj or outfit actually in-stock along with a 5T pj or outfit proved too much for me, so "close enough" matching will have to do.

So, all in all it's a good thing that Christmas is about JESUS and not about presents, shopping or Christmas outifts because I'd be doomed for sure. Here's a few pics of what we've been up to since Thanksgiving....Merry, Merry Christmas everybody!

Love this picture of Caroline and Savannah loves snuggling with Caroline!

More candy was consumed than placed on the houses...trust me.

I LOVE my sweet baby girls!

Thanksgiving was spent in Fort Smith this year with the Shepard clan and it was fun! There were three grandchildren in the house which made for lots of activity and somebody was napping at almost every point of the day. Savannah got hold of the camera and decided she would document all of us for herself....Thanks Bug!
