Retrospective, Part II

I don't have the FOGGIEST idea where to start other than to say I resigned from my position with NeuLion JumpTV two weeks ago today and I'm just now starting to unravel from the twisted rope I had become! I had no idea how much I had put off and how much "half living" I had been doing these last many months until just this week when I was able to wake up from my fog - note the laundry piles, take a nice long walk and actually play with Savannah up in the playroom (so much to her joy that she actually wet her pants because she didn't want to stop playing). She'll never forgive me for posting that - so don't tell her. Just revel in the flattery with me..... Needless to say my quiet time yesterday was AWESOME and God made sure I was keeping myself in check. My personality lends itself to lists, "to-do's", guilt emotions and "persistent achievement". So, I readjusted my priorities for the 98th time yesterday and we'll see where He takes me next. In the meantime, here's some pics to bring you up to date

Caroline is a bit of a munchkin at the moment, so feeding her is
a bit of an effort on all of our parts!
Aunt Wendy and our cousin Leigha came to visit us from Denver
for Leigha's spring break. It was so fun to explore Memphis with them!

Savannah and Leigha at The Peabody Hotel after checking out the ducks. Check out Savannah girl's sweet choice of clothing for our outing. I kid you not - wandering decorative Beale Street, people stopped and asked if THEY could take Savannah's picture! hahahaha

Savannah and Caroline Share A Room....

Much to my anxious chagrin, we recently moved Caroline into Savannah's room and it is now "the girls" room. I am shocked at how Savannah can sleep through Caroline's periodic shrieks and crying and so far so good!
Thad and Savannah went and picked out her new bed and then my sweet Thad worked his tail off a couple weeks ago when we were in Nashville/Chattanooga and made Savannah's headboard from scratch. He is a master wood worker in my humble opinion and some day I hope he has a place to really do his thing, cause he's so good at it. Here's a few pictures of the new set up. We like to refer to it as "cozy" instead of "cluttered".....

Tents and Tea Parties

Yikes. It's been a chaotic last six weeks! I have been in over my head at work lately and trying to pretend like I'm not working full-time.....successful? Hardly........
But, in the meantime - we've embraced winter with tents and tea parties and travel. Thad is an expert tent builder and showcased his talents to Savannah's delight for several days in our kitchen. She is all about anything girly and has had several tea parties for Caroline, Pinky Bear, Savannah bear and bitty baby. Just recently I had to visit with partners at the Southern Conference basketball tournament and it costs a million dollars to fly in and out of Memphis for whatever reason, so my mom flew into Nashville and met us there for about $500 less! We explored Chattanooga a bit and shopped in Nashville and it was a blessing in the form of work.
Blogs aren't much fun unless they are updated more often, so I will hope that this is the longest I go between posts. We are looking forward to sunshine and spring much like everyone else, so happy St. Patrick's Day and keep your head up in this economy. It's tough, but God is good.

Winter Wednesday

We didn't get much, but what we got - Savannah enjoyed!

New York, New York

My company headquarters are in Plainview (Long Island) and we had sales training meetings for a couple of days, so we packed up the family and headed east! Thad and I wanted to take Savannah to experience FAO Schwartz, so we drove into Manhattan and made an afternoon out of it. We grabbed a burger and went back to FAO for more. Thad did great navigating traffic and the streets. My man also discovered that the offices are only about five minutes from Bethpage Golf Course, so of course he would load up the kiddos and head over to explore and eat lunch! Needless to say it was a fun few days.....

Happiness Is Being Four Months Old

Caroline is one of the smiliest babies in our humble opinion! She is four months old now and is so sweet. She made her first airplane ride on January 20th (to New York no less) and was perfect. Never cried one time...... Enjoy.....

Christmas 2008

We had a "sweet chaos" of a Christmas. As our life would have it, Thad (work)traveled the 18th-25th and the 26th - 28th giving us Christmas day, which of course...was a (family) TRAVEL day! However, I was bound and determined that the three girls would still get dressed up and go to church for Christmas eve services and partake in celebrating Jesus' birth. Savannah kept asking when we were going home, Caroline slept during the service and cried in the car, and my pants didn't fit right.
Afterwards, Savannah and I dined on meatballs and macaroni & cheese and then our wonderful friends - Matt and Mindy Gandy saved the entire day and treated me to a personally delivered meal of beef tenderloin, broccoli and cheese casserole, sweet potato casserole and sinfully good oreo truffles. WOW. I LOVE the GANDY's! We packed and traveled to Fort Smith on Christmas day (read: arrival of 10:30 at night) to see the Shepard clan and then it was on to OKC to see the O'Keefe clan just in time for Thad to get back on an airplane and fly back to Memphis on the 26th. Fun was had by all and we came home on January 3rd loaded with Christmas goodies. We are now officially Toys 'R' Us of East Memphis and we need a second home to actually move around in, sleep in and eat in. Happy New Year!!!

Dressed Up For Christmas Eve Service

Savannah's Christmas Eve present - she is fascinated by all things Narnia.
Caroline - just happy as a clam and no clue what day it is.
